About Us

Established in 1932, Young Hunter is a modern client focused legal practice based in Christchurch and providing legal services throughout New Zealand.  The firm currently has seven partners, two associates, two consultants and six solicitors.

Young Hunter’s commercial and civil litigation teams complement each other, and enable the firm to provide a comprehensive range of legal services to a large and varied client base which includes major national corporations, local business interests and private clients.

Young Hunter has long had a particularly high profile in civil litigation with former partners including the Honourable Peter Penlington QC, a retired High Court Judge, the Honourable Justice William Young, President of the Court of Appeal, and senior barristers Nick Davidson QC, Nigel Hampton QC, and Nicholas Till QC.  The depth and quality of Young Hunter’s practice continue through into the present partnership, their associates and staff solicitors.
