Partner

Catherine is a partner in our civil and commercial litigation team and a member of the firm’s Insurance Law team.  She has had considerable experience in a broad range of civil and commercial litigation, in the courts and specialist tribunals as well as through mediation.

Cath graduated from Victoria University and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 1984.  Initially, she practised criminal and civil law.  Later, she focused on the civil side, specialising for several years in employment and administrative law, and defamation.  Cath’s current practice is mainly in insurance law and litigation – especially liability insurance – and most commonly entails resolving negligence issues and contractual disputes. That work involves a very wide variety of problems in industry and agriculture, including building related matters such as leaky homes.

Cath joined Young Hunter in 2004, after a period away from the law while her family was young.  She became a partner in 2010.
