Hamish is a partner in our civil and commercial litigation team.

Hamish has wide experience in all aspects of civil and criminal litigation, with particular expertise in employment, medico-legal, insurance and insolvency law. He acts for receivers and financiers on insolvency related litigation and recoveries.

Hamish has extensive court experience in the District Court, High Court, Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court and Court of Appeal, and provides strategic advice to both employers and employees.  He has also conducted numerous mediations in a wide range of matters.

He is actively involved in District Law Society matters and is a member of the New Zealand Insurance Law Association. Since 2007, he has been Convenor of the Litigation Committee of the Canterbury-Westland branch of the New Zealand Law Society.

Hamish graduated from the University of Canterbury in 1990 and completed a Master of Laws with honours in 1997.  He joined Young Hunter in 1996 and became a partner in 2001.
