Layton's journey:
Layton graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws in 2011. Following his admission as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand he joined a medium sized law firm in Blenheim where he worked for 3 years specialising in property law and asset planning. He then made the move to London where he spent 5 years in a leading property firm acting for high net worth individuals on various large scale residential developments. After returning to Christchurch in 2020 he worked at a medium sized law firm for 5 years on business, property and private client matters before joining Young Hunter in 2026.
