Ten new skilled trades on Green List Residence fast pathway
The Government has added 10 new trade occupations to the Green List work to residency pathway from 18 August 2025.
To be eligible, applicants must show a minimum of two years’ work experience in the relevant occupation in New Zealand and be working for an Accredited Employer when they apply for residence.
Additional eligibility requirements include being aged 55 or under at the time of application, meet health and character requirements, and be paid at the level reflected for the specific role being applied for.
The new occupations being added are:
Metal Fabricator
Metal Machinist (First Class)
Fitter (General)
Fitter and Turner
Fitter-Welder
Pressure Welder
Welder
Panel Beater
Vehicle Painter
Paving Plant Operator
